Hi, my name is Mike Blair, welcome to my online resume and portfolio. In short, I've spent nearly three decades in the computer industry. In the 1980's I assisted people with disabilities through the programming of robotic arms and special communication devices. It was during those years that I began advocating for the hearing impaired, elderly, and developmentally challenged. Soon I found myself putting computer systems on hold and spent more time in Sacramento and Wash, D.C. as an advocate for the disabled. .It was in the 1990's that I discovered enjoyment in teaching computer technology to post-secondary students. I have many years of working in the computer training industry holding positions as: Applications Training, Facilities Manager, Operations Manager, Training Manager, Corporate Trainer, and Director of Training. During 5 of those years I was on the road with a project team, contracting with large municipalities, revamping computer systems, updating databases, designing intranets, writing customized software training manuals, teaching the software, and implementing the "roll out." After teaching web development classes for years, I decided to produce websites as well. I have owned a web design business for some years and now freelance along with my wife and a talented coder. I am available for teaching or website creation with advanced SEO.
